So what is it about men and women that make things so difficult to understand. In the 1970's there was the feminist movement that taught that men and women are the SAME. They aren't. They are equal, but they are different.
When it comes to communication there is a great book called Why men don't listen and women can't read maps by Barbara and Allen Pease. They go into how men and women are wired in the brain after years of evolution.
Even if you are a strict creationist, this book will not make you think that God has any less a hand in humans. But it goes into what part of the brain affects men and women. Why one is good at talking and the other at not talking. It even gets into things like pararllel parking.
So if you want a good book on how to better understand your spouse, check it out. I got it from the local library, so I would think you won't have to spend any money on it.
